About Oscar Valladares Cigars
This Oscar Valladares 12-Cigar Sampler is an introductory tour of a brand that has risen quickly in popularity, ratings and reviews over the course of an impressive first decade. Founded in 2012, the Oscar Valladares brand is shorthand for a collaboration between three industry giants: Oscar, his brother Hector, and master tobacconist Bayron Duarte.
Oscar started out as a travel agent and soon established his first links with the tobacco industry while organizing factory tours for Rocky Patel. After developing a friendship, Oscar worked for a decade with Rocky, which is where his tobacco expertise began. At the same time, Bayron Duarte was at General Cigars learning his trade until, in 2012, Duarte and the Valladares brothers created their now-iconic brand.
Oscar Valladares cigars are made in the brand's own factory in Danli, Honduras, with a focus on using Honduran tobacco. You'll also find aged long filler Nicaraguan tobacco and San Andres Mexican leaf wrappers in the line-up, especially on the ever-popular 2012 by Oscar line. Experience 2012 from all angles in this Oscar Valladares sampler — four of the 12 sticks are picked from the Oscar Valladares 2012 range.

Let's take a deep dive into the individual sticks that together make this fantastic 12-cigar Oscar Valladares sampler — remember every cigar is a Toro vitola, making for an individual smoke time of close to two and a half hours depending on humidity, and around 30 hours total.
2012 by Oscar Connecticut Toro (6 x 52)
The first of four 2012 sticks in this sampler, 2012 by Oscar Connecticut has a top-shelf Honduran Connecticut wrapper. Expect flavors of cocoa, almond and spice, along with a woody cedar profile.

2012 by Oscar Corojo Toro (6 x 52)
2012 by Oscar Corojo combines Honduran and Nicaraguan fillers with a Nicaraguan binder and a Honduran Sun Grown Corojo wrapper. The result delivers creamy coffee and cedar, with hints of chocolate and red pepper.

2012 by Oscar Maduro Toro (6 x 52)
2012 by Oscar Maduro has a dark and oily San Andres Maduro wrapper, hand-rolled at the Oscar Valladares factory in Danli. Earthy with espresso flavors, the profile sparkles with cinnamon, citrus and white pepper.

2012 by Oscar Barber Pole Toro (6 x 52)
The 2012 by Oscar Barber Pole is a spiral-bound special edition with a distinctive striped wrapper that uses dark Maduro and pale green Candela leaves. The flavor profile includes the sweetness of caramel, savory chocolate, and hints of dried fruits and spices.

Wild Hunter Natural Toro (6 x 52)
This is the first in a pair of Wild Hunter cigars to make it into this Oscar Valladares 12-cigar sampler. The Wild Hunter Natural is a Honduran puro with notes of earth, leather and espresso, topped with chocolate and spices.

Wild Hunter Oscuro Toro (6 x 52)
Switch out the wrapper leaf and you get the Wild Hunter Oscuro. It delivers on the promise of the Wild Hunter Natural but adds those dark oscuro flavors of black cherry, balanced by the sweetness of the tobacco.

Rosalila Corojo Toro (6 x 52)
Oscar Valladares Rosalila Corojo is named after the Mayan Rosalila Temple in Honduras, which features on the band (and under the lid if you buy a box of 21 sticks). It's another relatively sweet flavor profile, with creamy coffee and chocolate notes.

The Oscar Habano Toro (6 x 52)
The Oscar Habano is one of the strongest cigars in the Oscar Valladares sampler. It has a heady profile of dark roast coffee, rich chocolate, wood, leather and earth, layered with pepper and spices.

The Oscar Maduro Toro (6 x 52)
A dark San Andres Mexican wrapper makes The Oscar Maduro an excellent companion to the Habano, or to enjoy all by itself some other time. There's bitter chocolate and coffee again, this time with a fruity hit of dark berries.

Altar Q Sumatra Toro (6 x 52)
Into the final quarter of this 12-cigar Oscar Valladares sampler, and we've already seen around a solid day of smoke time. Altar Q Sumatra keeps it going with Honduran binder and fillers wrapped in an Ecuador Sumatra leaf. Coffee and spices are balanced by the sweetness of honey in a stick that again pays its respects to Mayan history and the ancient city of Copan.

Ciseron Edition Toro (6 x 52)
Two to go, and Oscar Valladares Ciseron Edition is a small batch cigar inspired by Cuban culture. The stick is named after Elmer Ciseron Bautista, the post-Cubist artist whose work features on the band (and on the lid when you buy a box of 20). Expect cocoa and cedar, with roasted nuts and a mouth-watering creaminess.

Super Fly Toro Maduro (6 x 54)
Ending on a high, Oscar Valladares Super Fly cigars are hugely popular and Super Fly Toro Maduro is a dark-wrapper, strong-body star of the show. Honduran and Dominican Republic fillers, Honduran binder and a San Andres Mexican Maduro wrapper offer leather and cocoa, sweet tobacco, tingling pepper and rich, dark fruit.
